Ok first of all I recommend you have your own custom desktop bot made for yourself, but to see what you need to have it do check these free online services.
Socialoomph - 4 1/2 Stars
This is a great program and it has few weaknesses, it could have a much better scheduler instead you must select how many hours ahead, but it's strength is you get unlimeted accounts and has absulutely a great stats program for tracking your clicks and short urls!
Hootsuite - 4 Stars
Another great program, it beats Socialoomph as far as scheduler goes, hands down better scheduler! However the stats are it's major weakness! It does have a prettier more colorful interface and faster to use! It does not force you to wait 60 seconds to post imediately, the stats weakness drops it a 1/2 star however.
CoTweet - 4 Stars
If this program had unlimited accounts it would be number one! But since it is a betaware and has a limit of only 5 accounts it loses a 1/2 star. That is the programs only weakness! It does have a great interface, totally different then any others. Has the best scheduler I've seen, it's stats still are not as powerful as Social Oomph but not bad. This service is intended for comercial accounts and expect them to start charging soon for a mediocore service :)
If you have a bot custom made for yourself you will definitely want it to be as detailed as social oomph is on stats! That is a must! And as detailed as CoTweet scheduler is another must.
You also want to be able to repost tweets after 3 weeks automatically because that's how long posts stay in twitter index. After 3 weeks you won't get filtered for dupes.
You will need proxies or purchase your own c-block ip's if you run your own program on your desktop or your own remote server. You need a easy way to switch IP's.
You may also want to be able to have User Logins for your assistants or helpers.
